[Haynes] Yahoo Sources: Los Angeles Lakers intend to move LeBron James to the starting point guard position.
[–]Raptors stevntiny 10.3k points 6 hours ago
It’s about time he started treating this game like its 2K
[–][CHI] Derrick Rose jeric13xd 322 points 6 hours ago
Always been the PG on 2k. Playing him with Allen, Miller, Battier, and Bosh was unfair.
[–]76ers jrobho 22 points 5 hours ago
As a veteran NBA 2K player, I can confirm that moving a 3/4 to the 1 is a game-breaker. Simmons is a yearly MVP candidate even without the jumper as a PG.

Point Forward LeMar Odom.
[–]Spurs renieri 7486 points 5 hours ago
This will be a challenge for LeBron. Starting point guard, starting power forward, assistant head coach, unofficial president of basketball operations, and manager of Taco Tuesdays.
[–]MysticKnives 1088 points 5 hours ago
Hosting dem Taco Tuesdays for the whole team is the biggest challenge
[–]Knicks monster_krak3n 299 points 5 hours ago
Don’t forget director, producer and main star of space jam 2
[–]Raptors The_Natural_Log 7 points 4 hours ago
Also the casting director as well as HR (handling payroll)
[–]stonerama22 140 points 7 hours ago
Point LeBron could be deadly
[–]Bulls Tankwagon jacob2815 114 points 6 hours ago
Yes, he's been pretty deadly in his career lol
[–]urk1310 112 points 7 hours ago
He had one game at the 1 in cleveland his last year and he went for 34 pts 13 ast
[–]Trail Blazers Soap_MacLavish 44 points 6 hours ago
He's basically always point Lebron though? Lol. He controls almost every possession on offense one way or the other.
[–]Raptors klaysDoodle 9 points 5 hours ago
He's fucking lazy (for an NBA player) off ball though. Then when he does nothing the rest of his team starts to do nothing.
Lebron with the ball is always >>>>>> than Lebron off the ball.
[–]Celtics fakercmn 52 points 8 hours ago
Is he the best point guard in the league?

I THOUGHT HE GOT TRADED SMH
[–]kobmug 1285 points 8 hours ago
Even after all the madness of this offseason a LeBron trade would have been the wildest thing.
[–]Lakers irondraggon 779 points 8 hours ago
After getting AD and actually filling the roster with shooters I think I would die

"Lakers intend to move Lebron James to the Clippers for Paul George"
Kawhi's final move to fuck with the Lakers.

it was Zaza who permanently damaged it in the '17 WCF, it's the only explanation..
[–]viniribeiro 1573 points 7 hours ago
LeBron, Green, Kuzma,AD and Cousins
Thats pretty sick
[–]kdottt35 4 points 7 hours ago
Lmao the Lakers are about to allow 140 points a game with their starting lineup.
[–]NBA spacegrip 56 points 7 hours ago
lmao at kuzma sf
c a s u a l
[–][NOP] Frank Jackson DaddyBelinelli 45 points 7 hours ago
Kuzma at 3 is a feast for the Clippers lol
[–]Lakers BiasedBavarian 82 points 7 hours ago
And their PF/C combo is a feast for AD/Boogie... what’s your point?
[–]Lakers xkoalasx 25 points 6 hours ago
Kuz can not guard small forwards.
[–]salzcamino 21 points 7 hours ago
Nobody in that lineup is quick enough to defend an actual point guard
[–]Lakers kingpc 615 points 7 hours ago*
I think that lineup takes a hit defensively. Swap out Bradley/KCP with Kuz to have Bradley and Green guarding opposing 1&2. Kuz can be the 6th man and close out games.
It also gives Boogie & AD space to operate better. Kuz still has to prove he needs to be respected beyond the 3 but other parts of his offense are still strong and can be of great use when he is primary or secondary scoring threat as 6 man
[–]Wizards acosmichippo 209 points 6 hours ago
Agreed. Who is going to guard the opposing guards? Green and who? Lebron isn’t running 1’s and 2’s around screens. Kuzma can try but he’ll fail.
This lineup will get torched by offensively solid backcourts like the clippers, houston, etc.
[–]Lakers kingpc 48 points 6 hours ago
Like I said Kuz needs to come off the bench and Bradley/Green will be starting guarding opposing guards.
Alos, Clippers are NOT a solid offensive backcourt - Beverly is a great defender but only good offensively. Shamet is a good shooter in his 2nd year.
Houston - Agreed
[–]DFisBUSY 153 points 6 hours ago
Dame and CJ would feast
[–]fugyu247 54 points 6 hours ago
I think LBJ, AD and Green are locks. The last 2 spots will be matchup based. Super versatile roster
[–]Magic bobbydigital_ftw 38 points 7 hours ago
L O N G B O I lineup:
[–]Warriors OldUncleEli 31 points 6 hours ago
CP3 just runs through everyone’s legs on his way to an easy basket
[–]Lakers kingpc 828 points 6 hours ago
Starting Lineup: Bron Bradley Green AD McGee/Boogie
6th man: Kuz
Bench: Rondo Cook KCP
[–]SirDoctorJustice 335 points 6 hours ago
Best lineup Ive seen with this roster. Bradley and Green guard opposing teams 1 and 2?
[–]Lakers kingpc 170 points 6 hours ago
Yup. Bradley can actually guard the PG very well and the SG position well. Green can hold his own against Guards and SF’s. This will minimize any mismatches while playing switching defense.
Also, them guarding 1 & 2 will allow Bron to guard his own position.
[–]Lakers MySafeForWorkAcct69 62 points 7 hours ago
KCP over bradley most likely, can also guard ones pretty well
[–]Private Aids 24 points 6 hours ago
And from what I hear KCP actually plays defense in comparison to Bradley, hope he steps up this year
[–]Lakers FuckWayne 35 points 7 hours ago
Caruso has a shot at playing 2 over Bradley/KCP imo
[–]Lakers vizzlypoof 30 points 7 hours ago
Maybe if he proves to be a shooter off ball later in the season and be able to guard starter level players. For now, it’s a safer bet to let him go up against opposing point guards and be a pest.
[–][GSW] Klay Thompson Xavientt 1127 points 7 hours ago
Always has been one
[–]Lakers mr-fiend 793 points 7 hours ago
But usually another PG actually starts as well, I think this is saying there won’t be a traditional PG starting, since our guard depth is ass.
[–]Trail Blazers adirtybubble 336 points 6 hours ago
Basically the tweet says “Rajon Rondo will not be starting”. It’s not semantics, it means he’s not going to be playing next to a PG like he has most of his career.
[–]Lakers Greatergoodbad 26 points 5 hours ago
Yep. This is the signal they’re done messing around. Last year must have really upset him with all the ball handling non shooters. This team is custom built for AD and Lebron to be maximized. With Kyrie and Wade he had to share duties. Now he’s going full on Magic.
[–][BOS] Jayson Tatum JitteryBug 87 points 5 hours ago
100%. Rondo and LeBron were awful together in +/- so they'd rather have Rondo run the point when LeBron is off the floor
[–]peppermintpattymills 23 points 4 hours ago
Yeah makes sense. Rondo would be good purely as LeBron's backup, doesn't make sense to have both of them out there together since they're both extremely ball dominant.
[–]Supersonics GallentKnights 211 points 6 hours ago
So who would be guarding small guards then? Bradley?
[–]Heat Nice_Ass_Lawn 377 points 6 hours ago
Danny Green or KCP or LeBron. Just cuz he starts at the 1 doesn't mean he will guard 1s
[–]pmacob 318 points 6 hours ago
Yeah this is just going to be like Ben Simmons. Bron plays the 1 on offense, but guards 3s and 4s on defense.
Really, this doesn't mean much. Just that they're going to start Bron, AD, Cousins, and two shooters (Green and Caruso/KCP I'd imagine).
[–]inmybutt69696969 129 points 6 hours ago
Yup. He's literally still playing small forward lol
[–][PHI] JaKarr Sampson Freak_Fest 29 points 5 hours ago
Ben guards the 1 a lot. He shut down DLo in the playoffs.
[–][CLE] Collin Sexton Emerphish 6 points 5 hours ago
That’s because philly is full of giants
[–]Wizards acosmichippo 76 points 6 hours ago
You are who you can guard.
[–]Lakers Desarticulation 61 points 5 hours ago
Wow so Pat Bev is KD? Holy stacked Clippers team.
[–]Knicks HokageEzio 222 points 8 hours ago
Didn't Lebron want to play off ball?
[–]AestheticStat21 197 points 8 hours ago
He says that but all of his teams end up being the same with him doing all the work and his fans saying he has no help.
[–]Cavaliers GiveAQuack 203 points 7 hours ago
Because it works the best by far. There's a reason Lebronball teams were top 5 offenses for a decade but Lakers weren't anywhere close.
[–]Supersonics Zeech180 101 points 7 hours ago*
That's the truth. People and Lebron himself will come to accept that Lebronball is a legit offense and that as long he's on the team, It's best for him to have the ball.
[–]Raptors klaysDoodle 54 points 6 hours ago
If you have Lebron on your team chances are he has the highest BBIQ and the best passing. There's no reason not to have him run the offense.
[–]nevershouldofcome 22 points 7 hours ago
LeBronball works pretty well offensively (well, except for 2015 but that was kind of an extreme case). 2014, 2017, 2018 Finals were lost due to defense.
[–]Lakers anal_savage1 98 points 8 hours ago
[–]76ers HarlemJazz 110 points 8 hours ago
RIP Bron's load management
[–]Bucks OrneryZookeepergame7 104 points 8 hours ago*
It won't change anything, he'll probably be a fake PG like Simmons. Bradley/KCP/Danny Green can defend PGs.
This is actually a smart move. Just move LeBron to middle of the floor on offense so he isn't taking up AD or DMC's spot in the post and let him run PnR.
If the team had somebody else run PG, him, AD, and DMC couldn't really coexist together. Can't have three high usage front court players.
[–]Raptors KawhiGotUsNow 32 points 7 hours ago
there's gonna be no change
he's gonna play the same way he has played his entire career
the ball may stay in his hands a lot, and the offence may stagnate, but it will undoubtedly be effective.
[–]Lakers LovetheNBA23 14 points 7 hours ago
Exactly. I have no idea how people who have watched Lebron post Miami are even surprised by this. It's all semantics. It just means the other true PG on the squad will play his backup minutes which is Rondo. Rondo at 13-14 mins a night is perfect for him. Bradley Green KCP Caruso and Cook will fill out the remaining minutes at the 2 and 3 spot when Bron is playing PG.
[–]nevershouldofcome 9 points 7 hours ago
Why do people think that he would load manage? Before he injured his groin he played 156 games in a row and it had no effect on him.
